A little later than I’d hoped for, Dialectic, the successor to JPT, is now available. This application has been in development for nearly a year. It features a brand new interface, new & improved features, better stability & memory management, and its speed is orders of magnitude faster than JPT. But the new telephony application isn’t the only new development here. There will be major new releases of Docktop, JABMenu, EntourageABMenu, DayliteABMenu, & Finder Window Manager. Other applications will get updates as well and there may even be some new applications in the works... This site will (hopefully) get a makeover and I’ll be adding more example code (new Cocoa projects that go beyond AppleScript) and updating the existing content as well. So, 2008 looks to be an exciting (and busy!) year. Thanks for stopping by and come back soon to see the updates. Jon Nathan About this Site Here you’ll find scripts and software that I developed for myself and that I’ve shared with friends and co-workers. People seem to find the apps & scripts useful. Most of the AppleScript Studio projects are very simple examples that were created in response to questions posted on the MacScripter.net AppleScript Studio forum. These projects demonstrate various techniques and code that you are free to use in any of your own projects. If you do so, however, please credit the source. Thanks. My application Finder Window Manager has been selected as a Mac Gem on the Macworld.com site. My freeware utility Preferential Treatment has also garnered quite a bit of attention and acclaim, which is gratifying. It has received many accolades including being selected as a Macworld Magazine Mac Gem (and recommended again in the October 2004, February 2005, & May 2006 issues), it’s been featured in Ted Landau’s Mac OS X Help Line (and is part of Ted’s “Top Ten Troubleshooting Tips for Panther”), it has been the software “Pick of the Week” at www.macosxhints.com, the “Utility of the Month” at www.macfixit.com, featured on the “Mac OS X Tip-of-the-Day” at www.osxfaq.com, was included in the list of “tools that every self-respecting mobile Mac user should have in their arsenal” by www.powerpage.org’s Jason O’Grady, and has been very favorably reviewed at www.versiontracker.com and www.macupdate.com. Thanks for the encouragement! All but a few of the scripts/projects on this site are free and most are fully editable. To download any script or application, click on its icon on the informational page for the script. If you find any of the scripts useful, I’d love to hear about it. If you have suggestions, requests, or bugs to report, again, please let me know. If you have general scripting questions, I highly recommend MacScripter.net as a great resource for all things AppleScript. Finally, if you use these scripts and find them helpful, please consider contributing to my webhosting and general development costs.
