AppleScript

AppleScript is a scripting language built-in to OS X. It allows you to string together applications & data to automate complex tasks and create customized workflows to make you more productive. Dialectic has very broad support for AppleScript. With some basic commands you can quickly configure the application to meet your needs and integrate it with other applications you use every day to make dialing even more convenient. For more information on using AppleScript, there are many online resources. One of the best is MacScripter.net which also includes a vibrant forum section.

To view the Dialectic AppleScript dictionary (a document that lists all of the support commands and properties available via scripting), launch the Script Editor application (see below) and then drag & drop the Dialectic application icon from the Finder on to the Script Editor icon in the Dock (alternatively, you can just click the link below to open the Dialectic AppleScript dictionary).

In addition to the discussion of Dialectic’s AppleScript support in the following sections, it is highly recommended that you check out the Online Resources for a wealth of scripts and other items to get you started.
