This page will be updated periodically as more information about various softphones is added.
Dialectic supports dialing through a number of softphones (literally software phones; applications that enable you to make phone calls using your computer over the Internet). For dialing any of the supported softphones, you would use the Softphone Dial Method which will send the number to be dialed to the softphone specified in the Softphone Dial Method configuration. Below are some notes & tips germane to the various supported softphones.
Note: Supported softphones that are not found on your system when Dialectic is launched will not appear in the softphone menu in the Softphone Dial Method configuration section.
Supported Softphones
To help configure Dialectic for dialing with the various supported softphones using the Softphone Dial Method, we offer free scripts on the Resources page (see the “General Dialing Configuration” section):

Bria, eyeBeam & X-Lite 4
CounterPath makes several different softphone applications including Bria, eyeBeam & X-Lite 4. In order to use one of these softphones with Dialectic, make sure only one of the CounterPath softphone applications is installed on your machine before launching Dialectic. If you have multiple CounterPath softphone applications on your system, remove extraneous copies (including old versions) by placing the applications in the trash and then empty the trash. If you have multiple CounterPath softphone applications installed, when you launch Dialectic you may not see the CounterPath softphone option in the list of softphones in the Softphone Dial Method configuration screen as the application can’t determine which phone you mean to use.
