If you’ve previously used Jon’s Phone Tool (JPT) on the same machine you’ve installed Dialectic, Dialectic will automatically find your JPT preferences & data files and import the relevant data. It will also offer to remove any JPT component files for you (it will move them to the trash if you want). If you choose to skip the removal of JPT on first launch and set the option to not remind you whenever Dialectic is launched, you can bring up this utility from the extras section of the Dialectic preferences.
Registered users of JPT who purchased their license on or after October 1, 2007 can upgrade to Dialectic for free. Other registered JPT users (users that purchased licenses prior to October 1, 2008) can upgrade to Dialectic for a significant discount — 60% off the price of a new license!
When you first launch Dialectic on a system that previously had a registered version of JPT (and have not removed the JPT registration file), you will see instructions for obtaining your free or discounted upgrade. For more information, please contact us.
