Basic Troubleshooting

If you are seeing duplicate entries in your JABMenu menus , try disabling the option “Use Networked Sources” in the Contact Source preferences.

If JABMenu is acting up in some other way, the best solution is to quit it (if it is open — you may need to use Activity Monitor in your /Applications/Utilities folder to send a quit command to JABMenu if it is not responding) and then delete the preferences. This will most likely resolve the issue. The preference file can be found in your preferences folder (~ is shorthand for your Home folder):

~/Library/Preferences/com.jen.jabm2.plist

By moving this file to the trash, when you next launch JABMenu, it will revert to its “factory defaults”. If you continue to have problems, quit JABMenu then re-launch while holding down the Shift & Control keys. This will enable verbose logging and reveal the verbose log file in the Finder. This file is located in your logs folder (again, ~ is shorthand for your Home folder):

~/Library/Logs/JABMenu/jabmenu.log

When verbose logging is enabled, this log will include all of the messages sent by JABMenu, including any errors that may have been encountered. If you continue to have problems, please send us this log file as an attachment to an email message. Verbose logging can be disabled by quitting & re-launching JABMenu.
