It is common practice for companies to provide a mnemonic device for remembering their numbers (such as 1-800-SOS-APPLE) but it’s often a pain to try and convert that mnemonic string to an actual telephone number. Have no fear, JPT can help with this too. To dial a mnemonic text string, simply enter the text into the “Number to Dial” field and click “Dial”. The number will automatically be converted and dialed. (If you don't want non-numeric characters converted and dialed, you can disable this option in the preferences.) If you just want to convert the string to a number for future reference without actually dialing the number, click the converter button in the main window (it looks like a grinder) to open the converter drawer. Then, enter the mnemonic text into the conversion text field, click “Convert” and the numeric telephone number will be displayed.
