Dialing through a CounterPath Softphone
CounterPath Solutions, Inc. provides several SIP softphones including eyeBeam, ineen, X-PRO, and X-Lite. These softphones are for use with many VoIP services (the X-Lite softphone is the free version).

To dial through any of the CounterPath softphones from JPT, you must be using one of the following versions of the CounterPath softphones: eyeBeam version 1.1+; ineen version 1.1+; X-PRO version 2.0+; or X-Lite version 2.0+. Additionally, only one CounterPath softphone can be installed on your system. If more than one (or more than one version of the same softphone) are resident on your system, JPT will not allow you to choose CounterPath Softphone as a Dial Method.
While JPT can dial any of the CounterPath softphones, you must configure your softphone with your VoIP service provider for your call to actually be connected. All fees and tolls incurred when using your VoIP service will still be charged when using JPT to dial your softphone, this is simply a means to easily integrate JPT’s powerful dialing capabilities (such as the Address Book plug-in or the contextual menu) with the softphones’ VoIP integration.
In the “Dialing through CounterPath Softphone” preferences, you may choose to have JPT strip the formatting from the number and set the dial delay if the softphone is not already launched when JPT sends the number to the softphone to dial. If you are experiencing problems with the softphone not recognizing the numbers sent to it from JPT, enable the option to strip formatting and try increasing the delay. The delay gives the softphone time to establish a connection to your VoIP provider before attempting to dial.
