Dialing through the Speaker
If you choose to dial through the speaker, you simply need to hold your external analog phone up to the Mac’s speaker when it dials — make sure the volume isn’t muted! (With JPT v3.5+, you can set JPT to override the current mute and volume settings so you don't have to remember to turn off mute before dialing, it will be done for you automatically. If this option is enabled, the volume state will be returned to what it was before dialing after JPT plays the tones.) You may need to adjust the speed of the dialed numbers to “Slow” if your phone has difficulty recognizing the dialed tones (you also may need to hold your phone very close to the speaker). If you continue to have problems, enable the option to “Use Pre-Generated Tones”. In any of your dialed numbers, you may add a comma (“,”) to indicate a pause when dialing. You may also adjust the length of the comma pause (in seconds) in the “Dial through Speaker” tab. You can use multiple commas for longer pauses.
