Known Issues
The following issues are known to the developer and will (hopefully) be addressed in future releases:
- If you enable the option to “Show in Dock” and hide the application (Command-H) and then use the global hotkey for lookup, the application may unexpectedly quit.
- Slow speed at launch. (You can disable the Launch window in the preferences and only a spinning progress wheel will indicate that JPT is starting up. In this way you can launch JPT and not be distracted while it starts so the long start time should not be an issue.)
- When adding JPT to your list of login items manually, do not check “Hide” as this may cause the JPT to crash.
- Incompatibility with Unsanity’s Menu Master. Add JPT to Menu Master’s Exclude List to eliminate the incompatibility.
- In some cases, the modem may not stay online for more than 5 minutes even if the hang up timeout is set to a longer duration. It may help to use the following initialization string: AT&FS10=255
- Busy signal detection on some non-US systems may not work properly.
- If you use a prefix of “9” for an outside line and your number begins with “9” (e.g., “999-1212”), the outside line prefix will not be added since JPT views the number as already formatted with this prefix. The solution is to use an outside prefix of “9,” (which will add a pause to allow the outside line time to generate a dial tone) or “9-” (to establish the outside line without a pause before dialing the rest of the number).
