To keep track of elapsed time during a phone call, use the Call Timer window. The Call Timer window is one of the three utility windows that you can summon from the main window.
To summon the Call Timer window, click the “clock” button in the main window. Or, if the main window is not open, choose Show Main Window > Show Call Timer from the main menu.
The Call Timer is used to indicate the duration of the current call. This is helpful for a number of reasons including to keep track of the time you’ve devoted to a call for billing purposes. You can manually start & stop the timer using any of the following methods:
- Click the Start Timer button in the Call Timer window.
- Use the Start Timer menu item in the main menu.
- Use an optional hotkey.
- From an AppleScript.
You may also automatically start the Call Timer whenever you dial by enabling this option in the Call Timer preferences.
