Address Book to HTML (view script source code)
Version: 1.0
Release Date: May 4, 2008
Requirements: Mac OS X 10.4+ & Address Book.app.
Script Type: Editable
License: Freeware (GPL)
Installation: Download, expand, and open the “Address Book to HTML.scpt” file in Script Editor.
Description: This script will export your Address Book data as an HTML file suitable for posting on a webpage or for printing. You can set the data items included in the exported HTML (e.g., phone, email, etc.) by adjusting the properties at the top of the script. For using as a webpage, the HTML file will wrap certain data items using the URI schemes also specified in the relevant properties at the top of the script.
When the script is run, you will be prompted for the name and location of the HTML file to create. If there are images associated with your contacts in Address Book, these images will be converted to jpg files and saved in a folder named “images” in the same location where the HTML file will be created.
One major caveat to this script: it is slow, painfully slow! Open the script, adjust the settings as you desire, press the “Run” button, choose the location for your HTML file and then go to lunch.
